New day and more work! ( Blender female character model, lowpoly )

Okay! so today! i tweaked few stuff! in the model! unwrapped! exported Ambient Occlusion and did some texturing work! and the result is not bad at all! :D


Update 1 : okay so am still working the texturing but I dont like the face result, am not sure if it is the UV, the Model or maybe poor texturing skill, taking an advice from a pro in some time and we will find out O_O


update 2: after a feedback session from my awesome mentor Mike Parent I fixed the baby a lot!, still I have to rework the hands but ah! major changes happened and I want to show! regarding texture and the model it self

Blender character modeling

okay! so taking things a bit more serious now and will start with a female character, I still don't have a concept of what she will be, but I just finished sticking together a model sheet and guides for what I will do for the base.

Update 2 : okay so it took me the whole day to finish this but still want to finish the ears and hair as well as unwrapping it! and now I really need a break ( facial mesh flow isnt good, am trying to remember the old stuff about mesh flow, possible rework )

long week

Alright! so I was visiting my new family this week and the trip is fun, took my laptop to their thought I could work but sadly I couldnt since I wasnt very comfy in there and my internet didnt work well and other stuff, but anyway! it was fun! I had lots of fun, watched some tv shows with them, cracked lots of jokes! :D and today I had a bit of time to learn something new after the trip, Materials and texture in blender, this thing is darn easy as long as you learn how it works, and figuring that out is tricky, specially with many misleading un pro tutorials out there! :D so I had to do it on my own, trail and error and finally got the results out! :D

Spec map and normal map for the model, very very happy about the result and learning something new that will be so handy from now on to bring out better looking quality models.

3D barrel in blender

Okay so I wanted to do something simple and always wanted to do, I know it will sound stupid but I like wooden barrels, I don't know why I just like them, so I made one today with blender and the unwrapping killed me until I found out that the best way to do it is to put a seam on every board in the barrel to unwrap it well getting clear UVs with no stretching.

3D texturing trick for game artist

Okay! so today I saw a concept art by an awesome artist on DA called Neo Japan

I just loved the design, specially the helmet and since am learning blender I said to my self I want to give it a shot, there was  trick I was reading about where you can use a concept art to have a texture from that, and guys! am telling you! if you have a seriously bad ass concept artist, texturing is no big deal.

I did the model all of course by my self and unwrapped it but the texturing belong to the concept art, so let me show you.

so after I finished the model and that didnt take time since the model it self is very edgy looking and after that! straight to unwrapping and of course got the UVs to Photoshop
and here comes the trick I simple cut the concept art and placed it over the UVs and did some editing for it 

and vuala! you got your texture!

and your textured model! :D 

done! :D 
good concept art can result in easy good looking texture for lowpoly game, hell even highpoly if you have clean looking high res concept art since the artist will give you the cloth feel and everything with that ( if he does )

one amazing project that was done by a fan! Metorid 2 Remake. from gameboy to pc now, am not talking about the same old one hacked ver or something, am talking about a real fully fledged remake of the game! amazing stuff! 2013 what is going on?

This year when it started I don't know it didnt seem good at all, vigil games was gone, than koji igarashi quit as a game designer, Megaman legends and universe cancellations and now Mr. Hiroshi Yamauchi died....

I am even afraid of saying how would it get worse cause after this I think everything is possible, gaming community please start looking into true game creations, we are losing legends here.

some one should at least try to fill the spot or we will end up under a pail of shitty games that means nothing, even when am working on a game that isnt much but it is a start for something really big in mind, i know you could make a bad game once in a while but when you have lots of money and a position to make a bigger game? please do go for it and am not talking graphically but true game design, something that will hit the spot like Braid, bastion, meat boy and cave story...please people think before you create a game, allow your self to be creative and smart about it....pls....look at nintendo and sega they always brought awesomeness into our lives...some of the best titles and of course nintendo is one of the most evolutionary gaming systems...

put those as an example for your self when you try to make a game....do go for triple A shit games...pls

2nd fully texture blender model today!

so I just finished texturing the sword! woho! :D

so I fixed the UV on the feathers area and added more colors to the sword! it looks so awesome T____T

Blender Modeling tackled!

So! after the Rocket model I could not just stay and do nothing, I wanted to see if I have learned something, Snagged one of my old weapon designs and wanted to make it into 3D! after a an hour a weapon model is finished! INSIDE BLENDER! I can't believe that I actually did this! LOL!

180 faces! :D totally ingame quality work next! unwapping and textureing! maybe will go crazy and do a sculpt to extract a normal map! lol! :D

the trick to tackle blender is not to go fast, just take it easy step by step and actually repeat what you are doing loud, say it to your self right click, drag, left click, A, until it starts to become a reflex! :) take it easy work hard and you will make it!

Update 1 : just updated the shapes to perfectly match the design even more plus mesh refine, next! UV Unwrap!

after a lot of suffering with this damn software which has everything but seriously need to explore it a lot! with hell lot of practice! specially if you are a maya user and this software goes against every natural reflex you develop while learning maya, I know some blender users will say there is a maya preset, no it doesnt do good! specially since every tutorial out there is a damn blender menu which guides you where? BACK TO BLENDER PRESETS! =_= anyway! am happy with this lowpoly model I made, its 81 faces textured with paint tool sai.

Zbrush stylized female sculpt Progress

Okay! so! here is the model after 3 subdivision levels than I zremeshed it to half and added more details ( god! i love zremesher! ) so here is the result, still a work in progress, i need to work on the ears more

after hectic week am back! O_O

okay so my windows failed me =_= and am too broke to take it to a shop to do all the stuff for me! so i had to take things in my own hands =_= which that made me go through hell it self, after a hell lot of attempts of fail and error i got to install a new windows and install all the softwares back, ( and you will ask why he went through hell for that ) that is a different story that I can't say anything about! :P

so back to sculpting with zbrush, after i finished my last practice model which came out oooookay... I guess and looking at real life reference for anatomy and observation which enhanced my mental library to achieve a better anatomy, now am trying to work on a stylized female model ( am sure I wont achieve the exact model ) but let's see.

anyway, i took the old model zremeshed it and did modifications on it while still in level one with 5.748 points active,

Zbrush skill progress

Okay so today I woke up and thought I should do more sculpting so I started a female practice model out of a dynamish ball and bit by bit looking at references, re sculpting the face, stretching there stretching here and bam! :D
am very proud of her face, she looks like a doll ( a creepy one :P ) I guess I did progress a lot much more, and damn it female body is super hard to sculpt, I rush like hell with a male but a female is a visit to hell when u start sculpting with not much knowledge :D but hi! practice practice practice!
